Gilcrease Museum Camps 

Help your child discover their inner artist with Gilcrease Camps! Our unique and engaging camps are the perfect way to learn, make friends, and create something new. Every week is filled with exciting activities and themes tailored to their age group, giving them the chance to explore history, art, and more. Let us help them unleash their creativity and have a blast while you doing it!

Recycled Sculpture 

JULY 17-21 | 9am-4pm  

Ages: 12-14 

Don’t let your creativity be confined! Learn about working with recycled materials through the investigation of techniques such as painting porous materials, sanding, and heat-molding. Campers will use conventional and unconventional materials of various shapes and sizes to sculpt and build abstract 3D wall sculptures. Campers will also manipulate our recycled materials and sculpt them to create a functional, funky, and vibrant lamp that the students will get to take home with them!

Repurposed Reproductions 

JULY 31-AUGUST 4 | 9am-4pm  

Ages: 7-10 

Discover the fascinating world of mixed media collage at our Gilcrease Collection camp! Campers will explore a variety of exciting techniques, such as mark making and printing, textile collage, embroidery and weaving, and sculpture (assemblage art) to recreate pieces from the Gilcrease collection with found and recycled objects. Unleash your creativity and create your own unique mixed media artwork!

Camp FAQs 

Location 

We’ll be at the former (Ahha building) located at 101 E Archer St, Tulsa, OK 74103. Even though Gilcrease Museum is currently closed for reconstruction, you can still have an amazing summer camp experience with us!

 

Ages 

Please ensure that your child meets the age requirement of the camp before registering. Campers must be the appropriate age on or before the first day of camp. The age range for each camp is listed under the description.

 

Sessions 

Gilcrease will be offering 3 weeks of camp this summer at 101 E Archer St. These are week-long sessions (Monday-Friday) and camp will begin each morning at 9am, with drop-off starting at 8:30am, and end at 4pm. Our camp sessions are limited to 20 campers to ensure a safe and fun experience for all.  

If you are in need of before care and/or after care, please see below. 

 

Before Care and After Care 

During after-care, your child will participate in games, art-making activities, and more. There is no before care, but campers can be dropped off anytime starting at 8:30am. After care is available for each camp session. After care will start at 4pm and go until 5:15pm. You may sign up for after care when you register for camp, for an additional $25 per camper for the week.  

 

Pricing 

Non-member: $250  

Non-member + after care: $275 

Gilcrease member: $200 

Gilcrease member + After care: $225 

Cancellation Policy 

  • If you wish to cancel your camp registration, please contact Mery McNett at 918-596-2772 or mery-mcnett@utulsa.edu as soon as possible.  
  • Registration cancellations made up to 14 days prior to the first day of camp will receive a full refund. For cancellations less than 14 days prior to the first day of camp, you will receive a 50% refund of the camp fees paid.
  • Transfers from one session to another will only be made if space is available. 
  • In the event that minimum enrollment is not met, Gilcrease reserves the right to cancel a camp session. If this happens, you will be notified at least 14 days in advance and you may transfer to another camp session (if space is available) or receive a full refund.  
  • Any changes to camp registration must be made up to 14 days before the first day of camp. 
  • If your child does not meet the age requirement for the camp, Gilcrease reserves the right to cancel your registration. 

Scholarships 

Scholarships for camp are available! There are a limited number of scholarships based on financial needs. Scholarships will be awarded in on May 19, and the request must be submitted by May 12.  Lunch 

All campers should bring a lunch from home. Please do not send anything that needs to be heated up or stored in a refrigerator. We kindly ask that you do not send any peanut products to ensure the safety of all the campers. 

Snacks 

There will be a snack time during the day. Please send your camper with a snack for them to enjoy.   

What does my camper need to bring to camp? 

  • Clothes that can get messy.  Additionally, we will spend time each day outside, so please make sure their clothing is weather appropriate. 
  • Please apply any sunscreen and bug spray prior to your camper’s arrival, as well as send it with them to be reapplied throughout the day. 
  • Reusable water bottle, labeled with the camper’s name. 
  • Lunch and a snack. 

Pick-up/Drop-Off 

Camp will be held at 101 E Archer St. Parents and caregivers can use street parking in order to walk their child in. Further details we be sent out about pick-up and drop-off prior to camp starting. 

  • Please plan to arrive a few minutes early on the first day to sign your child in. You will need to bring your child in. Gilcrease staff will then walk your child to the space for camp. 
  • Campers can only be picked up by an adult on the authorized list you will fill out upon registration. For safety purposes, anybody who picks up a camper must be on the authorized list and must show a valid ID to pick up a camper. If you need to add somebody to this list after you have filled out the authorized form, please contact Mery McNett at 918-596-2772 or mery-mcnett@utulsa.edu 

Medications 

  • Any emergency medications (such as an inhaler or Epi-Pen) should remain with the camper in their backpack or lunchbox. Please let the instructor know that your child has an emergency medication.  
  • All other medications must be checked in with the instructor in the original container with the prescription label showing the correct dosage and time the medication is to be administered. We will not have a nurse on-site to administer medications, but our staff is certified in First Aid and CPR to ensure the safety of your camper. 
  • Upon registration, you must list all medications to be administered during camp on the liability and medical release form.
