T. D. Kelsey

T. D. Kelsey

Growing up in the vast natural beauty of Montana inspired T. D. Kelsey's passion for wildlife. His interest was further honed by participating in rough stock events and training his own cutting horses, a pastime that continues today. In particular, Kelsey has an interest in Texas longhorn cattle, maintenance of a wild horse herd on his ranch, passion for African wildlife and a general concern for wildlife worldwide. So it is no surprise that for both monumental and garden-sized sculptures he uses titles such as Briargate Mustangs, Swamp Donkey, and Texas Gold.

Kelsey is a member of the National Sculpture Society and had one of his sculptures chosen by the society for their Masterworks of American Sculpture 1875-1999 hosted by the Fleischer Museum in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is an active member of the Cowboy Artists of America. Kelsey's work has been displayed in the National Museum of Wildlife Art, Jackson Hole, Wyoming; the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Cody, Wyoming; and the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame Museum, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Both private and commercial investors such as the Coca Cola Company, American Express, the Saint Louis Zoo, and Meredith and Tom Brokaw have commissioned Kelsey's work.
