KID FLIX - The Blue Butterfly
Set in the rain forests of Costa Rica, this inspiring story of a 10-year old boy, diagnosed with a terminal illness, follows his dream to catch the magical and elusive Blue Morpho, the Blue Butterfly. His journey changes the lives of the people around him, including the reluctant entomologist and the natives in the village. Inspired by a true story. Rated PG. Live action, 97 minutes, 2006.
The KID FLIX program offers children and teens a broad selection of entertaining fictional and fact-based films and shorts that enhance the enjoyment of Gilcrease Museum’s collections and exhibitions. The films include a variety of new releases, old family favorites, documentaries and cultural stories, both animated and live-action that relate to the different locations, time periods, cultures and art contained in the museum. Come explore Gilcrease Museum through film. Age recommendations are given as a guide for parents to select the films they deem appropriate for their children.
