Art Blast Saturday

Have a blast at Gilcrease Museum's first Art Blast Saturday! Come see the special exhibition of American Impressionists and enjoy a whole day of "Impressionable" activities. Spend a "delightful" and "colorful" day with the American Impressionists.

10:00 a.m.-Noon: Work with plein air artist Joey Frisillo on painting with pastels in the morning as she gives tips on how to observe and capture color and light in an outdoor environment as you create your own work.
10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.: Listen to ragtime music with Don Ryan.
11:00 a.m.-Noon: Family tour of Transcending Vision: American Impressionism 1870-1940.
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: A cafe lunch will be available for sale as you enjoy a balloon artist creating impressions of animals and objects.
1:00-2:00 p.m.: Family tour of Transcending Vision: American Impressionism 1870-1940.
1:00-3:00 p.m.: Make your own encaustic painting with artist Allison Lackner.
2:00-3:00 p.m.: Watch a live performance of Artful Lives-Mary Cassatt and the Impressionists, a one-woman show presentation by award-winning actress Robin Lane. Artful Lives is for high school and adult audiences.
2:00-3:00 p.m.: Enjoy storytime with the Tulsa City-County Library children's department during Storytime Impressions.
10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: The Tulsa Children's Museum will offer an all-day opportunity in the Gilcrease House to create your own Impressionistic art piece using found objects and reusable materials.

Free for families with children.
