Biography:

It is my desire to not only achieve a likeness in my portraits, but to capture something deeper about the subject as well. I hope to provide a glimpse into the subject’s spirit, capturing an essence about them that tells a story or in some way engages the viewer’s imagination.

Cindy Long’s earliest memories are of drawing people and faces on any surface available. Her interest in art led her to work in the graphic design field for a number of years, but her desire to draw never waned.

Several years ago, Cindy returned to her love of drawing, concentrating on creating portraits of the people of the West. This unique group of individuals has long held intrigue for her, and continues to capture her imagination. Her use of graphite in portraying her subjects enhances their strong presence and individuality, creating the emotion she hopes to convey with each drawing.

Cindy participates in art shows throughout the West. Her work has been published in several magazines, and the in the book, “Strokes of Genius, the Best of Drawing”. She is represented by the Legacy Gallery in Jackson Hole and Scottsdale.
