Biography:
|
I cant remember a time when I didnt love dogs. They enrich and sweeten our lives, and I think they deserve to be remembered forever. My goal is to capture their unique spirits and personalities in paintings, which will stand the test of time.
Paint what you love is advice often given to artists. In twenty-five years of painting, Janice Cobb has returned again and again to two favorite subjects: water and dogs. When she lived briefly in California, she discovered a fascination with the ocean and all things associated with living by the sea. In earlier paintings, she frequently added dogs to landscapes and beach scenes, then progressed to making the dogs the center of attention.
Janices work has been seen in Gilcrease Museums American Art in Miniature since 1999, Philbrook Museums Festival of Trees, and Tulsas International Mayfest Invitational Gallery. She is a member of the AKC Museum of the Dog Artist Registry. She is represented by The Howell Gallery in Oklahoma City.
