Artist Bio :

Born and raised in North Central Texas, George Hallmark was an architectural designer and commercial artist before turning to easel painting. Voted the Official Texas State Artist in 1988, his work can be found in many prestigious private and corporate collections including Texas Instruments, Medical Heritage Collection, the Texas Capitol, M.B.N.A., and the Capitol in Washington, D.C. From Mexico to France, Hallmark’s work has a distinctive international flavor and draws heavily on his architectural background.

Hallmark has gone full circle in his development as an artist. In the mid-1990s, he returned to his roots, architecture. His love of subject is obvious in the delineation of stucco walls, tile roofs, and long shadows in his unique painterly style. He is now completing new work from recent trips to Mexico, France and Spain.
